An
Incredibly Big Shark Cage
Labor Day weekend marks the
 start
of great white
shark season in San Francisco. This year, divers will view
great whites from inside the world's largest shark cage. (At least,
we think so. If there's a bigger one out there, we haven't found it!)
Our giant shark cage measures
12 ft long and 5 ft wide and is designed to comfortably accommodate
eight shark divers. The
cage was custom-built for Incredible Adventures by DOER Marine's Deep Machine division. Based
in Alameda, California, DOER (which stands for Deep Ocean Exploration
and Research) was founded in 1992 by oceanographer Dr
Sylvia Earle and specializes in subsea robotics and submersible
systems.
We needed an incredible cage
in a hurry and DOER's CEO Liz Taylor, Engineering Director Tony
Lawson and Operations Expert Ian Griffith delivered in a very

Tim Taylor is ...(We Honestly
Aren't Sure What to Call Him These Days)
 Tim
Taylor owns and operates the Research Vessel
Tiburon, a 63-ft luxury yacht based in Key West and leads our
shark and dolphin adventures in Florida
and the Bahamas.
That would make him Captain Taylor, but he's really so much more. He's
an advanced dive instructor and is overseeing cage dive operations for
our San
Francisco great white adventures. He's the director of Ocean Outreach, Inc.,
a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring ocean conservation. He's
a naturalist and an undersea explorer. Tim's discovery of a shipwreck
off the Florida Keys earned him a fellowship in the prestigious Explorer's
Club. Most recently, Tim's made international news for his role
in the exploration of Pulley
Ridge, the deepest coral reef in the United States and his discovery
of a new species of coral. Tim is also featured in the latest issue

Our US great
white shark adventures begin in downtown Tiburon. The great little
seaside village is located just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San
Francisco. It's not too late to book your shark adventure to the Farallon
Islands. Our boat departs from the Angel Island Ferry Dock weekends
during the months of September, October and November. Cage dives are
$875 and no dive certification is required. If you'd rather stay dry,

Hunter back in May of 1995. Today, Cape Town's Thunder
City is home to the world's largest and most diverse civilian
jet squadron. The "dazzling dozen" includes 4 English
Electric Lightnings, 3 Buccaneers and 5 Hunters.

during this year's Ysterplaat Air Show, held in the heart of Cape
