Fly Higher in Winter We hate cold weather. We start whining when the temperature outside our Florida office drops below 75. Lucky for you, jet engines are nothing like us. They love cold weather and perform their best in cold, crisp air. There's no need to wait for warm weather to start planning your MiG adventure. One of the best times to schedule a flight to the edge of space is actually during Russia's winter months. According to Oleg Fedorov, Deputy CEO of the Sokol Aircraft Plant, the MiG-29 flies its highest when the weather is cold. For more information about our special winter flight packages, contact Greg. Please keep in mind it can take 60 days to obtain the necessary security clearance to fly, so you need to call soon to fly a MiG in January or February. Tour a Bunker, Visit a Vodka Museum Have we told you about Marina? She's our incredible tour guide in Moscow. Marina has been guiding IA clients around the city for every one of our 17 years. She helps make sure our MiG flyers get the most out of their free time in Russia. Marina recently emailed Greg to suggest we offer a VIP tour of Stalin's Bunker. Hidden deep beneath a sports stadium near the ever-popular Ismailova Market, the bunker was built to accommodate 2000 people and is now part of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces. If you can't join us for the real thing, you may wish to view the video tour of the bunker we found on YouTube. Good Bye Sharks, See You Next September If you want to dive with great white sharks in San Francisco, you'll have to wait until next year. This year's season at the Farallones has come to an end. Here's a few of our favorite comments from this year's shark divers: "It was a great experience! The staff was great and catered to our every need. Fresh crab for lunch. Amazing scenery under the water. While we did not have a close encounter with a shark, the overall experience was great. We did get to see a gray whale up close, and saw a shark grab a seal in the distance....something that most people will only get to see on Discovery's Shark Week." - Thomas "An experience like no other - when you're looking at a great white within striking distance everything else in the world ceases to exist, and the fear and excitement blend together into a feeling beyond words. (Well, that's what happened to me anyway.) - Amit "Well, the water was a bit murky and I couldn't see very far, but all of the sudden there was an explosion of bubbles and thrashing about 20 feet in front of the cage and a huge great white swam down and directly past the cage! It took a huge bite out of the seal cutout. Everyone up top saw it jump out of the water and we saw it crash down from below. It was truly unbelievable. The weather was perfect." - Andrew Contact Sheri to reserve a spot on our San Francisco shark boat in 2011. Next year's shark dive season will run from September 24 through November 13. Pricing remains the same: $875 for cage divers and $375 for topside participants. Sheri's also taking reservations for next year's multi-day, live aboard white shark adventures in Isla Guadalupe, Mexico. For dates and details, give her a call at 800-644-7382. Want to see sharks?
