"The Adventure Formerly
Known as MIGS Over Moscow..."
![Sokol at Nizhny Novgorod](/newsletter/smallsokol.gif)
It's time for a moment of truth.
Our MiGs were never technically in Moscow. From 1993 until
the end of 2005, flights took off from the town of Zhukovsky, located
about 35 km southeast of the city.
We're excited to
announce that beginning in October, our flights will depart from a new
location in Russia. You'll now leave Moscow by small plane and travel
400 km away to the town of Nizhny Novgorod and the home of the aircraft
plant Sokol. The Sokol factory has been manufacturing MiGs for
over 70 years and supplies jet fighters to more than 30 countries.
The
Sokol Aircraft Plant is currently the only facility in Russia officially
authorized by the Russian Federation to provide fighter jet flights
to civilians. (Zhukovsky's flight license was not renewed in 2006.)
Incredible Adventures is proud
to be the only US company authorized to sell flights at this amazing
facility. The jets and pilots are among the best in the world.
We're still in the process
of updating our website and brochures to reflect these exciting changes
(and trying to decide whether we need to rename the program). If you'd
like immediate information on our new Russian flying adventures, call
800-644-7382 or email
Greg today.
MiG-31 Replaces the
MiG-25
We're also happy
to announce that high-altitude flights are now being offered only in
the MiG-31 Foxhound, the successor to the Foxbat. The MiG-31 is a new
and improved version of the jet that earned a reputation for traveling
to the edge of space.
Choose Your MiG-29
Flight Plan
In
another change, when you book a MiG-29 adventure, you'll now have the
opportunity to select from four separate flight profiles. We want
you to have the adventure that's just right for you.
Now Offering Video
on San Francisco Shark Dives
You asked for it and now we
have it. Through a special arrangement with Aquatic Films of Key West,
Florida, customers on our one day shark dives to San Francisco's Farallon
Islands can now purchase a DVD of their adventure on the boat for just
$50. Videographer Skyler Thomas spent time in South Africa
photographing great whites in Gansbaii before joining the staff aboard
our great white shark boat, The Tamalpais.
We still have a few dates left
in this year's great white shark season in California. Cage dives are
$875 and top side adventures are $375. No prior dive experience is required.
For more information, call Sheri at 800-644-7382 or visit our cage diving website.
Dates to Remember
- Tiger Shark Debut: December
1 & 2
- Zero-G Florida: January
20th
- Covert Ops: March 23 - 25
We Dare You to Keep
Up With Bill
You read about him when he made his HALO
jump from 30,000 feet. Then again, when he completed
his first zero-g flight. And again, when he went back with his 80-year-old
sister for a second weightless flight. (You didn't read about his air
combat adventure. But he's done that too.) On September 23, Bill
House, 78-years-young, completed his first great white shark adventure
in the Farallons. (We're saying first, because he's talking about going
back...if he doesn't decide to meet us in the Bahamas instead for a
tiger shark adventure.)

Dummies Wanted |
![Tiger Shark Cage Diving, Bahamas](/sharks/bahamas/tiger-shark01-160x107.jpg)
We're looking for a
few brave souls. Well..actually, you don't have to be too brave...just
willing to "go with the flow" and help us "re-test" our new
tiger shark cage diving adventure
in the Bahamas. On December 1 & 2 we'll be on West End, Grand
Bahama Island, running additional crew training trips and gathering
video and photos for our new brochure. (Our first adventure trials
were held in August and were extremely successful. We encountered
lots and lots of big sharks during what was supposed to be the
off-season.) If you'd like to be part of this opening weekend...when
we test everything from hookah rigs to the quality of the food,
we're offering a special deal. Cage dive adventures are $875,
but if you join us for this very first weekend, we'll give
you two days of incredible shark diving for the price of one.
Only a few divers are permitted on these first two trips,
so you'll also enjoy a ton of cage time while having the opportunity
to provide suggestions for making our newest dive adventure even
more incredible.
The Bahamas is an incredible
place to view and photograph really big tiger sharks. The water
is clear and warm and the sharks are plentiful. For more
information about this new adventure, visit our website.
For January, February
and March tiger shark dates, call or email
Sheri.

Last Call for
HALO Jumpers
|
When
you jump out of a plane from
nearly 30,000 feet up, you definitely want to have your wooly
clothes on. The outside temperature during that first part of
freefall can easily be 20 below zero. That's OK in the summer
months, when you're falling toward warm air, but in the winter,
you'd be just plain miserable. We don't believe in turning our
customers into icicles so we end our HALO season in October when
the weather starts to turn in Tennessee and don't resume jumps
until April.
If you would like to HALO
jump this year, the clock is ticking. Call Greg or Sheri today
to get on the jump schedule or send us an email.

Jane's
Top Three Excuses Why This September Newsletter is So
Late |
IA
Pres-ident Jane Reifert spent three days in Reno, Nevada attending
the famous Reno Air Races. She was there to meet with the two
men behind a brand new civilian rocketjet. Their
incredible aircraft will one day take Incredible Adventures customers
over 70,000 feet high and beyond the speed of sound. The
jet has been designed for use as a civilian space flight
trainer but has the interest of competitive air racers looking
for the next great plane. The guys are still lining
up funding (if you're interested in being a part of their
plans, call us and we'll give you their numbers) but plan
to be ready to provide flights in less than two years.
Jane then went on to San Jose for the
American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Space 2006
Conference. She headed a session on space tourism.
And then, she went on to San Francisco
for the opening of great white shark season in San Francisco.
It's a rough job, but someone has to perform "quality control"
on all the company's adventures.
