Galina Gets an Invite to the Ball

200 Years of US-Russian Diplomatic RelationsOn October 3rd, a special celebration will take place at the US Ambassador's residence in Moscow to help commemmorate 200 years of US-Russian Diplomatic Relations. We're extremely jealous that Galina, our General Manager in Moscow and Oleg, our partner at the Sokol Aircraft Plant, will be there and we won't. The celebration is taking place at Spaso House, the grand and historic building that has served as the American Ambassador's residence since 1933. History buffs will definitely want to pay a visit to the special website the Embassy has created detailing some of the highlights from the last 200 years. We may not get to play Cinderella at the ball, but we'll be there in spirit. If it wasn't for our incredible Russian partners, we wouldn't be able to offer our amazing MiG flights and cosmonaut adventures.

Did They Think She'd Say "No"?

Buzz AldrinIA President Jane Reifert co-chaired a session on space tourism at the recent AIAA Space 2007 conference in Long Beach. (It's a whole lot easier to say AIAA than American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.) The day before the event, she got a call from conference organizers, asking her if she would mind letting them fill an open slot in her session with another speaker.

Like she'd say "no" to the chance to meet and introduce legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

After speaking in support of space tourism and companies like Incredible Adventures, the first moonwalker shared his thoughts on what the next 50 years of space exploration will bring. (He thinks Mars should be part of our future.)

"In the Shadow of the Moon" Gets Thumbs Up from Buzz

Buzz (aka Dr Aldrin) was just one of the guys at the space conference to recommend seeing the new documentary "In the Shadow of the Moon". Out this month, the film is considered a must-see for anyone who has ever dreamed of leaving the planet. See a preview and read more about the Ron Howard production here.

Think of it as a Space Appetizer

NASTARSoon, you can experience space without leaving earth (and without spending more than the cost of your first house). The National AerospaceTraining and Research Center (NASTAR Center) officially opens in October with a ribbon cutting ceremony and festivities that include special appearances by civilian astronauts Greg Olsen and Anousheh Ansari.

The center is the first facility specifically built for the purpose of training civilian astronauts and pilots. Using two centrifuges, a high-altitude chamber and lots of computer wizardry and scientific know-how, the people at NASTAR can simulate virtually any space mission or flight profile. (Imagine Disney's "Mission Space" ride on super steroids.) Our first two-day space flight training adventure at NASTAR is set for November 29th & 30th. The center is located in Southampton, PA, just a short drive from Philadelphia, and the cost is $4950 + hotel and airfare. Visit our website or email Greg for more information.

It Takes More than a Little Mist to Stop a MiG Flight

Flights are available all year long in Russia, but pack your flexibility if you want to fly in winter...or fall...or spring. Morning mists (translation: fog) and surprise white stuff (translation: snow) can sometimes require a little schedule juggling. A couple of our recent customers have learned just how smart we are to include a back-up day or two in every MiG program. Everyone has flown though and had an incredible time! See the latest photos here.  To schedule your own MiG adventure, call or email Greg.

We Sent It...Really We Did...

A MiG brochure we mailed to someone in 2005 (yep...two years ago) was returned to our office today (yep, two years later) marked "no longer at this address". Sometimes the brochures we send out decide to take a little adventure of their own and never make it to your mailbox or inbox. Unfortunately, the only way we know they've taken a detour is if you tell us.  (Or they eventually get tired of flying around the world and come back home to us.)  If you request info from us and don't receive it quickly, please give us a call or send us another email so we can try again.

Shark Diving is the Ultimate Treat

Kick off your Halloween celebration a few days early with an adventure that only sounds frightful. Join us October 27th for a Tiger Shark dive in the Bahamas. Call Sheri for details.

Meet our Shark Team

We are incredibly lucky to have a great bunch of people working our great white shark adventures in San Francisco. We'd like to introduce you to three of them.

Greg Barron, Shark Ops DirectorDirector of West Coast Shark Ops Greg Barron is our very own MacGyver. (For the one or two of you in the world who didn't watch the popular 80's TV show, and don't know what we mean, you can pay a visit to Wikipedia for details.) Basically, Greg is the guy who magically makes everything work like a charm, from cage deployment to galley operations. We haven't found anything Greg can't make, fix or figure out. When he's not busy making your shark adventure incredible, Greg builds bicycles and manages real estate. (Not just any bicycles, but the kind that star in movies.) You can read more about Greg here.

Peter Winch, NaturalistOn every trip with Greg is the guy that gives our great white shark adventures a touch of class. Naturalist Peter Winch is a gentleman and a scholar. (Plus he's got that British thing going for him.) In his weekday life, he works at the Farallons Marine Sanctuary Visitor's Center as their naturalist. That means he knows more about the sharks, birds and other wildlife at the Farallon Islands than just about anyone else and is the guy you want standing beside you with binoculars. Read more about Peter here.

Julia Bissinger, Dive InstructorOur team of great dive instructors is lead by the wonderful Julia Bissinger. As a child growing up in Pennsylvania, Julia dreamed of one day diving with sharks. (We think she loves her job so much that she'd probably do it for free...but we pay her anyway.) Customers rave at how good she is at making them feel comfortable in the cage. When she's not out at the Farallons, she keeps busy working full time at a biotech company, going to college and leading dives to Carmel and Monterrey. She's also an avid road biker.

Dates are selling out quickly, but they aren't all gone yet. If you'd like to join Greg, Peter, Julia and the rest of our shark team for a great white shark adventure, call Sheri today. 800-644-7382.

Meet "the Other Mr Las Vegas"

There's Mr. Las Vegas Wayne Newton, legendary night club performer turned ballroom dance contestant, and there's the other Mr. Las Vegas, Steven Striker...just Striker to his friends and happy clients.  Striker is the president of Striker VIP. He's the ultimate Las Vegas concierge, event planner and all-around "man with connections".  If you're planning a trip to Las Vegas (hopefully for an Incredible Adventures fighter jet, air combat or zero-g adventure!), let us know and we'll give you Striker's number.  He can arrange just about anything in Las Vegas, from VIP limousine service to show tickets.

Summer is Almost Here (If Your Here is South Africa)

English Electric Lightnings in FormationDon't forget! When it's winter in the US, it's summer in Cape Town and the perfect time to fly an English Electric Lightning. Cape Town is the only place in the world where you can take a flight in the legendary British fighter. For more info about the Lightning or any of our other Cape Town Jets, give Greg a call at 800-644-7382.
