News from Nizhny

Our Russian partners at the Sokol Aircraft Factory in Nizhny Novgorod have been busy this summer, flying IA clients to the edge of space and working on new aircraft projects.

Sokol delivered new YAK trainers to the Russian Air ForceThe Sokol Plant just delivered five new YAK-130 jet trainers to the Russian Air Force. The new trainers will be used for pilot training and take the place of the L-39.

The new MiG-29K is a marine version of the MiG-29.They're also busy getting ready for MAKS 2011, the major international air show taking place this August at Zhukovsky Air Base, the former home of our MiG adventures.  They'll be teaming up with the MiG Corporation to promote the new MiG-29K at the aviation event. The MiG-29K is a marine version of the MiG-29.

In other news, construction has started on a new church at the Sokol Flight Station to honor the memory of pilots who have been lost in crashes.  The church is being funded completely through private donations and the good will of Sokol pilots, staff and MiG adventure clients.

The Sokol Plant has been building MiG fighters for over 78 years. Contact Greg and make plans now to fly a MiG-29 in Russia with the great team at Sokol.

So Many Adventures, So Little Newsletter Space

Fly Air Combat in CaliforniaWe just sold a Corvette Racing Adventure to three friends. We offer a great Rally Driving Adventure in Florida near Gainesville.  Our Offshore Rockets Powerboat Racing Adventure near Miami has always been popular with small groups. The most popular adventure to give as a gift is an Air Combat Adventure in a Marchetti SF-260 or Extra 300.  Please don't forget to stop by our website now and then, to read about the great adventures that don't make our newsletter every month.

Boys Will Be Boys

Our Hollywood Top Gun Adventure made the May/June edition of American Eagle Airline's inflight magazine called Latitudes. We appreciate the plug they gave us in the article about Los Angeles "mancations", titled "Boys Will Be Boys", but please don't get the wrong idea. Our adventures aren't just for boys. Girls love flying a fighter jet too!

They Got Us All Excited for Nothing

They told us the Drive
a Bulldozer with Incredible Adventures.segment featuring our Hard Hat Adventures would air June 27th. We announced it on Facebook. Then the good folks at NBC TV's Today Show said "nevermind", the story has been bumped to July.  When in July, we have no clue.

Hard Hat Adventure to appear on Today Show in July.If you're a regular Today Show viewer, please keep an eye out for a story featuring reporter Jenna Wolfe driving an excavator. If you're not, keep watching this newsletter for a link to the video story after it airs.

Better yet, schedule your own Hard Hat Adventure and discover what makes driving a bulldozer, excavator and skid steer loader an incredible Florida adventure. Pricing starts at $421 but our favorite adventure retails for $1678.

(Blame Florida sales tax for the strange pricing. Whenever possible, we include any taxes or extra fees in our published pricing. We don't like being surprised by extra fees when we buy something and don't think you do either.)

October Dive Date Added

Dive with Tiger SharksIf you want to lounge in a beach chair, play a game of sand volleyball, and catch a great sunset, Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida is the place to go. It was recently named the number one beach in the US by Dr Beach.

Dive Tiger BeachIf you want a beach vacation packed with adrenaline, plan a trip with Incredible Adventures to the number one beach for shark diving. Tiger Beach is the underwater playground of big tiger sharks, reef sharks and lemon sharks.  Located beneath the sea some 20 miles off the coast of Grand Bahama Island, the spot is known for its shallow water, sandy bottom and large shark population.

While we can't guarantee you'll see sharks on any shark trip, since nature is impossible to control, we've never not seen sharks in the Bahamas.

We have two tiger shark dive dates coming up soon:  July 25th is sold out, but space is still available on our July 31st trip.  We just added a trip October 15th and will be announcing additional "public trips" soon.

The cost for individuals to cage dive in the Bahamas is $875. Topside viewers pay $375. No dive experience is required. For more info, contact us by email or phone.

Private charters are $8750 and can be arranged virtually anytime, as long as we have sufficient notice.

Naturalist Training Set for July

NOAA, the governmentThe Farallones agency that oversees the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary where our San Francisco Great White Shark Adventures take place, enacted legislation in 2009, requiring anyone operating sightseeing tours within the Sanctuary under a NOAA permit to have a trained naturalist on board.

We were already staffing every IA shark dive trip with a knowledgeable naturalist or marine biologist, so we supported the new legislation.  As a result of "the naturalist requirement",  our staff receives free training from the Sanctuary every year.

Dive with
Sharks at the Farallones with Incredible AdventuresWhen you book a great white adventure in San Francisco, you'll learn things about sharks the general public doesn't know.  Anyone conducting shark research within the Farallones is required to share their latest research findings during the annual training session, so the information can be relayed on to you.

This year's Gulf of the Farallones Naturalist Training is set for July 20th and will be held in San Francisco. We believe it's open to the general public. If you'd like us to check for you, give us a call or send us an email.

Want to experience the Farallones? Contact Sheri for San Francisco great white shark dive info.
