The Adventure
Slip on a flying helmet and strap into the front seat of an open cockpit biplane for a flying adventure you’ll never forget. Feel the wind as you soar over the vineyards of Sonoma and Napa, the landmarks of San Francisco or the incredible Pacific Ocean.
The Plane
Fly in one of three 1942 vintage PT-17 Stearman biplanes, modified to accommodate two passengers. The front cockpits feature 32” wide bench seats, providing an opportunity for two “medium sized” adults to fly at the same time. Note: If you add aerobatics to your flight, you’ll be required to wear a parachute (it’s the law), which will reduce the seating space a bit.
Location
Flights take off from the North Bay Air Museum at Sonoma Valley Airport (sometimes known as “Schellville”). The private airport is about four miles north of the town of Sonoma, CA and is a little over an hour’s drive from San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport.
P-40 Warhawk , P-51 Mustang and T-6 Texan flights are also available at Sonoma Valley Airport. Consider adding additional flights to your Sonoma flying adventure.
