A Decade Later, Another Dream Flight
In 1999, Simon Wells traveled to Cape
Town,
South Africa to fly to the edge of space in the English
Electric Lightning. He is quoted in an article about our Cape Town
Jets that appeared in the May 2000 issue of Air & Space Magazine.
(We love the internet. You can read
the decade-old article online with just a click of your mouse.)
Fast forward to 2009. Almost 10 years
to the day later, Simon will be in Russia, flying to the edge
of space in the MiG-29.
We
hope you learn two things from this story. The first, is that we've
been around a really long time. That means we have lots of experience
arranging flying adventures. The second is that people who fly with
us have such a great time, they want to fly again.
But whatever you do, please don't get
the idea you should wait 10 years between incredible adventures. We
offer flying adventures in 28 different aircraft, shark
dives in four countries, driving
adventures, military programs and more. If you wait too long between
adventures, you might not have time to experience them all.
Earlier
this month, IA Director of Sales Greg
Claxton visited the Aurora Aerospace Center
in St Petersburg, Florida to personally "test" our newest space training
adventure. He experienced zero-gravity in the Rockwell Commander, tested
his endurance in the "space ball" and took a tour of the flight simulator
command central. (Greg has already flown an L-39 in Russia, so he skipped
the optional g-force training in the L-39.)
A complete, two-day space training adventure,
including both a zero-gravity flight and an L-39 flight, hypoxia training
and simulator time
is $8000. The training segments can also be purchased separately with
pricing starting at $2500.
Aurora Aerospace Center is located at
St Petersburg / Clearwater International Airport, just a short drive
from Tampa, Florida and less than two hours from Orlando. For more information,
visit our website or email
us today.
Make The Ultimate Aerial Action
Flick
Imagine
actor friends George Clooney and Brad Pitt starring as ace fighter pilots
in a modern-day version of the classic movie "Top Gun". They each strap
into high-performance fighter jets behind top Hollywood
stunt pilots and take to the skies to engage in an aerial dogfight
worthy of the big screen.
Now, imagine you're George Clooney and
your best pal is Brad Pitt and you're the two making the movie. We can't
make you into two of People Magazine's Sexiest Men, but we
can help you make a movie in fighter jets.
Our friends at Mach 1 Aviation are professionals
when it comes to making movies featuring top of the line fighters. For
$15,000, you and a friend (or foe) can fly and film over the scenic
California desert. The price includes three flights per person, in order
to capture enough footage to be edited into a short production. (Additional
flight time and production services are available for an additional
fee.)
For more information, please give us
a call or send us an email.
We Just Got Around to Counting
We
know we're repeating ourselves, but we can't help but brag a little.
You probably didn't realize that we offer flying adventures in 28 different
types of aircraft. We ourselves didn't know until about a week ago when
someone finally found the time to count.
To make it easy to "shop" for your favorite
plane, our incredible webmaster Nancy has created a new website map
that lists all of our flying programs in one place. The list separates
the planes by "props" and "jets". Access the new list by clicking here.
First Firefighter Adventure
Set for September
Get
real training from real firefighters at a real firefighting academy.
Enter a burning building. Rapel down a three-story building. Crawl through
smoke-filled darkness. Fight live fires. Be one of the first to experience
our new Firefighter for a Day
Adventure in Orlando, Florida. The action happens Saturday, September
26 and the cost is $995. Read all about it on our website, then call
to reserve your spot on the squad.
Email Problem Discovered
If you requested info and it hasn't arrived, please contact
us again. We recently discovered a problem with our internet DSL
service. It seems some of your emails weren't coming in and some of
our emails weren't going out. The sad thing is that we don't know
who did and who didn't receive our emails.
A Lesson Learned the Hard Way
Unfortunately, in today's world, you can't just register
the website address you want to use for your business. You must also
register every conceivable version of your company name in order to
keep some unscrupulous character from buying a version of it, posting
an objectionable website and then trying to get you to pay them to take
it down.
We know that stuff now and own a zillion domains as a result,
but back in 1996 when we first registered www.incredible-adventures.com, we
weren't that smart.
We didn't realize we'd never gone back and registered the
".net" version of our name until a competitor bought it and posted a
website that looks enough like ours to confuse visitors into thinking
they're our Russian office. (They even copied the little icons we use
to show who in the office is logged on to Skype and available to chat.)
Sergey ignored a letter from our attorney, but he did tell
us he'll take it down, IF we give him $5000.
If you own a small business and have a website, please don't
make the same mistake we did. Registering extra domains is a whole
lot cheaper than hiring a lawyer and filing a domain registration dispute.

Every year, TV's Discovery
Channel devotes an entire week to shark
programming. Some of the shows are well-done and serve to
educate the public about sharks. Others are not so
well done and aim to make people afraid of sharks. You can find
a list of scheduled programs, as well as some fun online "shark
games" on the network's
website.
We might be prejudiced, but we think the best way to learn about
sharks is not
from your TV, but from a first-hand encounter with one of the
ocean's most amazing predators.
We're now booking one, two and five-day great white shark expeditions
originating in California and one-day tiger shark adventures in
Grand Bahama. (We can also send you shark diving with great whites
in South Africa.)
For more information, visit our
website or contact our office shark expert, Jane.
Note, no dive certification is necessary. Our programs are designed
to allow both divers and non-divers the chance to cage dive with
big sharks.

Formula Racing Comes to Florida
|
Canadians have been crossing the border to spend winters in Florida
for generations. This year though, there will
be a new group of "snowbirds" on the scene. Promosport Canada
is leasing track space at the European Rally & Performance
Driving School in Starke, Florida and bringing open wheel formula
racing to the sunshine state (The facility is near Gainesville
and is the year-round home of our rally driving school and ATV
course.)
Packages start at $1295 and custom group or corporate packages
are available. For more information, email or call 800-644-7382.

For years, we've offered a "Big
Adrenaline Rush" adventure in Costa Rica, featuring white
water rafting, canyoning,
bungee jumping and more. Now, a somewhat similar program is available
in Nepal, through our friends at Explore Himalaya. (Explore Himalaya
is the company behind this year's Everest Skydive and was actively
involved in planning the inaugural Everest Skydive last year.)
Explore Himalaya's 11 day "Wet & Wild" Adventure includes
kayaking, river rafting, bungee jumping, biking, a jungle safari
at Chitwan National Park and more. The cost depends on the time
of year booked, but averages around $2400 for a party of two ($1200
each).
Trekking fans will love the 15 day "Everest Experience" that
features stops in Lukla, Namche, Pangboche and Chumoa.
Lots of options are
available. Pricing depends on time of year and group size, but
typically ranges from $2400 to $3600 for a group of two.
If you'd like us to send you a sample itinerary, please let
us know.

Doug
McCallie, an Executive Producer of the hit television show Survivor,
is teaming up with our Hollywood Top Gun pilots to produce a new reality-based
TV series called Ace. The show will take real people
from all walks of life and put them through fighter pilot training.
In order to bring real-life experience to the show, McCallie
himself has started training in the L-39. Video of his training
will be incorporated into the new series. For more information
